Default Get Cool Stuff Site.
This is the last known site that had the "Cool Stuff" for download and after finding out you could no longer download from there I sent all 3 "Cool Stuff" to the Graveyard and there now hosted there for all to enjoy.

ADD: This site is now gone as of 9/18/2013.
The last site: http://www.thesimsstories.co.uk/CoolStuff.aspx (you can no longer log in.)

Hosted at the Graveyard: http://sims2graveyard.com/ (You must have the game to use the files.)

That reminds me of a question. What requirements does a site have to meet to be put in the graveyard? Sapphire Sims seems to have been down for a while but I couldn't find any of their stuff in the graveyard.

Here is just part of it, you can go to the site and read up about it.
Quote:
1. Do you have permission to put these files up?
Most of these sites have been dead so long that nobody even knows how to contact the creators anymore. The site's purpose is not to go against creator wishes, but to retrieve and share lost files for the community.

2. I've been told that creators are mad. We've been banned from linking to it on a site I go to. What's the deal?
If a site you frequent has a ban up--please abide by their rules even if you don't agree with them. Although their ban isn't necessary or warranted, it is up to them how they run their site.
Birgit complained and was completely rude from the beginning, rather than deal with her drama, I removed her crap. ChristianLuv asked for his items to be removed and reuploaded it all to MTS. MariaVS (Glamsim) requested her files not be shared at all.

3. How do you get all these files? Did the creators send them to you? The files get to the graveyard several ways. Either I downloaded them myself, someone emails them to the graveyard, or I find them on other sites (simscave or GoS for instance). I also have a helper sometimes for when I'm busy/overwhelmed. Most of the files here came from visitors. Several creators have sent their files or notified ahead of time of their site closure.

4. Why are there no pictures?
There are pictures for alot of sites. You may not see them. They should be above the file and will end with .jpg/.gif/.bmp/.png. If there isn't a picture, then there is no picture available. If you'd like to take some pictures for the graveyard, please email.
This site was never meant to be like a regular site, it was originally meant for people looking for files that they needed and knew what they were looking for. Although I'm glad downloadaholics like the site, I can't do anything about the missing picture problem.

5. I found a broken file or link, I don't understand why you have a certain site up, or I have some other complaint/question/comment.
Please leave a message in the guestbook or send an email by clicking the word "contact" in the menu.

6. Can I get on your links page? Can we affiliate? Join my toplist! Blah blah blah.
No. Sorry.

I always wanted the Stories stuff, but I couldn't download them - even registered and logged in the official site! So thanks. BUT... the Pet Stories stuff won't appear in my game - I enabled CC, and the option that CC shows up in the catalog, but I noticed that the game doesn't recognize that I have put the stuff in it. The Downloads folder is in the My Documents directory of Pet Stories, so I should work. I haven't tested the CS stuff yet, though.

It needs a mesh or something to appear, no? (I don't really know anything about meshes and stuff like that)

Are you trying to make the Stories stuff appear in your Sims 2 game? If so, it won't work, and the graveyard says that it won't in the ReadMe file. You'll need to check out other sites for conversions. I'm not sure if we're allowed to link to said sites, but Google "Sims stories conversions" and you should get lots of really relevant hits right away.

If you're trying to add the Stories content to your Stories game, I have no ideas for what the problem might be.

I'm trying to add Pet Stories stuff to my Pet Stories game. I'll clear my downloads folder, and download the file again next time to see if it'll appear in the catalog (and will I get that pop-up when I start the game).

The Life Stories stuff only works for Life Stories.
The Pet Stories stuff only works for Pet Stories.
Castaway Stories stuff only works for Castaway Stories.

Well it looks like Life Stories Welcome Bin items will work in Pet Stories, you will need to install them into LS then copy them over to PS and they will work.

Pet Stories Welcome Bin items will not work in Life Stories.

CS has more but the one site only showed 1, there are 4-5 items for CS and some of the other stuff from PS and LS works in CS to. Need to do more testing on them.

Both LS and PS have 9 each and CS has 4, but like I said you can change the installer to install LS to either PS or CS and PS to CS, you can not go the other way though.

For LS stuff to go in to either PS or CS you need to renamed ".SimsLSPack" to ".SimsPSPack" or ".SimsCSPack".
For both the DJBoth and KaraokeMachine they work but no sound can be heard.
The Drum Set does not work in CS, I have not tested it yet in PS.
I know you can get a "dirty looking" Jukebox in CS but the one from LS looks better and it works great in CS. The Bar for LS works in CS but you can only make 1 type of drink.
I will be doing more testing of all items in the next 2-3 days.

ADD: Back from some testing, the PS Cow Plant only works in PS, it will not work in LS or CS.

Thanks for these items! My fave Community Lot was always a night club but Life Stories had no way to build one. Dating or family outings are so boring in the stories because there isn't a lot to do. I have a question about the sim packs, can the wallpaper/floor Sims2 packs be renamed to work in Life Stories? I don't have Sims2 on my new windows 8, so I can't switch them from one to another. Thanks!

I have not tried it but I do think you may be able to do it. Just remember that LS has some of OFB, UNI and NL so keep it to those EP and see.

You can make new lots for LS but they also need to only have the items from OFB, UNI and NL but not all items will work for LS.
If you can run the AGS ( http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=250555 ) and make a game with only those 3 EP's then build a community lot that you like, package it up to file then click on it to install it then go to your \Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Teleport file copy all that in there then go to \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims™ Life Stories\Teleport file and paste all there and the next time you run LS the lot will be there. You will have to redo some of the floors and walls. You have to make sure the items you place in the community lot are in LS. If you need more build area in LS then you can use Mootilda's hood replacer program to copy the terrain from LS over to Sims 2 with AL and flatten out the terrain where you want to build then copy the terrain back to LS with out trees were you want to build and your good to go.

After the story is over and you want more Sims on your lots then get BO's Unlimited Sims mod and you are then unlimited to how many Sims on each lot. http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=7875.0

Hi, I changed the '2' on simspack to 'LS' and the wallpaper files went into the teleport folder. Haven't checked in game yet to see if they show up. Do they have to stay in Teleport folder? If so, can I use sub-folders there? Oh, each pack also adds 2 files 1 - SIMS2IMPORT File 2nd - SIMS2TMP File. If the walls work, can one of these be removed? I'll go see now if they showed up.

I also used the link for Simbology and got an error that free emails are not accepted. That's odd since I've had the same email for years and use it there. There's no way to contact them either.

Oops, must only be your link because I used my faves link and it worked.

Back from testing walls. The do show up and also vanish from teleport folder, my guess is they add to the proper place. The LS items showed up too. They also get placed in proper areas.

I'm curious if anyone has tried adding mini-lots (1x1 etc.). I dislike these huge lots since I've mainly used the small ones in Sims2. Compact houses with small families and the all necessities they need are more fun. I wouldn't know which folder to add them too for testing.

As I said, I downloaded the file from SIms2Graveyard, extracted the .rar file, cut all .SimsPSPack files, created a Downloads folder where Pet Stories is in My Documents, and copied the files there... and they don't appear in the game. I have every option regarding CC enabled in my game.

Not sure if there's more ways than 1 to install the packs. All I did was was click the pack to install itself, it went into Teleport folder. Once you log into game, they disappear from the teleport folder and go to their usual spot under buy mode. This is in Life Stories, haven't tried Castaways or Pets on this PC yet. I find the pets so annoying and Castaways with all the neighbors just dropping in.

I was disappointed in the DJ Booth, thought it would spawn a DJ. The neon bar does spawn a bartender so that works for a community lot. There are no matching island counters so sims can sit at the bar, they just stand around with drinks even though there are tables and chairs nearby.

You don't just move them they must be installed by double clicking on the package.

After the story is over you can use Mootilda's Lot Adjuster Program to make the lots smaller if you want to.

It is a little involved to add lots to LS, first you need to build them in a base game or OFB game then package them to file then change them over to LS packages and install them. There are 2 ways I know how to get new lots into LS, 1 make them in a Base Game hood #N002 then replace the LS N002 hood whit the Base Game one and move the houses to the bin. 2. First in a Base Game remove all from "LotCatalog file" then make the houses in a Base Game hood move them to the bin and copy them over to the "LotCatalog file" in LS.

Thanks, Mark93. I've read Mootilda's info and don't understand it. I'm not all that tech savvy. I could just fence off a small area and build my minis, lo, but I am enjoying the building aspect for now.

I used the DJBooth on a community lot in LS, It doesn't spawn a DJ and causes an error if a sim tries to use it and I have to delete it. I keep forgetting to remove it from the lot and a few times got an error before sims even got out of taxi, but most times there is no error. There are no sims in that area before the taxi arrives. It's not an item I would use in a house since I used it mostly for dating so sims had somewhere to dance instead of using a stereo that has to be turned on each visit.

The neon bar works fine and does spawn a npc. too bad it doesn't have matching counters so the sims don't have to stand around and drink. There are tables and chairs close by but they don't use them. It's still a nice addition instead of coffee in a bar, lounge or night club.
