Default Graphics Cards
I was looking at this computer: http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/ho...PC-ENERGY-STAR-
to play all of the sims (2,3, eventually 4) and expansions, and i liked this pc, it comes with 4GB Nvidia GeForce GT640 and, if i pay an extra 30 i can get the 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 645, there is also a 90$ upgrade to a 1.5GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 660, is any of them good enough to for the sims? is the entire computer good enough? Should i get the most expensive card, will any of them possibly run on high settings?

Only the GTX 660 gets a green "yes" for every expansion in the sims 3 system requirements chart found here: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...em_Requirements .

Sims 2 should run fine on that computer, I think, although some people have problems to install it on windows 8 machines. Do you have the 4 discs CD version of the base game?

I would definitely go with the GTX 660, if I wanted to play sims 3 with all the expansions on it. I think the rest of the specs look fine. At least they meet all the requirements listed on the site, I linked too. I donĀ“t play sims 3 and there are lots of people, who know more about hardware than me, who will hopefully chime in.

I don't think the GTX 660 will be well suited for The Sims 4, and overall the system at HP you linked to is expensive for what it is. I think we can help you find something much better. What else do you plan on doing with your new computer? Photoshop? Video Editing? Do you have any spare parts from older computers you can re-use?

I was looking for an already built one. Like from best buy or something, not custom. I don't have any spare parts and i'm just using it for sims and internet stuff. I want one that is less than 700-800, but those don't seem to exist with a good graphics card.

What about this one: http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-...LMMG1;4~W8AWENG

Or this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-pavi...=specifications

Also is the Radeon HD 7750 2GB a good card? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/xfx-cor...5&skuId=6819866
I am looking into the option of getting a cheaper pc and then buying a new graphics card then having best buys geek squad put it in.

GTX 660 is a bit overkill for Sims.
GTX 650ti boost / HD 7850 is enough for 1920x1080 resolution.
HD 7750 is OK for lower resolution such as 1366x768.

Anyway for gaming purpose I recommend custom build.
