I can't find currant instructions for SimPE. I installed it a few years ago, have only done skin genitisizing. Am trying to figure out how to extract a Sim. Was given step by step directions - but they don't work: "go to tools (check)/ "go to hood, then hood browser"... But after "tools" there are only 2 "browse" dropdowns. So I can find the right hood there, but I would have to click on something (like characters, etc) but none of these choices are correct. In other words, the path is tools/hood/hood browser. Then "go to tools again..." This path does not show the required things. I wonder if I have the wrong version of PE, but there is no version # connected to it.

RESOLVED; installed another one & the proper path IS there.

It's possible you need to reset the layout.

That may have been the problem, not that I know HOW to "reset the layout". But I've re-installed. THANKS EVERYONE!
