Default My game lags too much in Makeup Section in CAS
Hello everyone! The title pretty much says it, but I'll explain. Whenever I have too much texture present in my game (like for example, the makeup section, or a lot of objects, or a really big lot), my game starts lagging. In the lots is not that bad, but in the makeup is really, REALLY slow. Like it seriously takes too much for it to load. I have Windows 10, and I got Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, and I have 6GB of CC (almost 14,000 files). Yes, I am aware that's A LOT.

Now, I don't know what the source of this problem is. Why does my game lag so bad in certain moments when I got an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960M? I can play games like Batman Arkham Knight fairly smoothly but my game can't handle textures from a game like Sims 2 (considering that Batman Arkham Knight is WAY heavier than sims 2 in all aspects)? I don't get it. Could anyone explain? Maybe it's because my game does not reconize my graphic card? I'm not sure. I've tried using the Graphic Rules Maker, editing those txt files, Video Cards, etc.... I don't see any result. I'm going to paste the config log, maybe you guys need it, I pasted it just in case. Thank you guys!

Is the makeup new CC or stuff you've had around for awhile? The game will lag a lot for me with new CC because it has to generate thumbnails for it. Once they're generated it goes much more quickly.

I think it's a bit of a misconception to say that Sims 2 isn't graphically intensive. Most games take a lot of shortcuts when rendering objects because the player's never going to really see them and it helps the game run smoothly. It's cool to only model the front of an object, or use a low rez object until the player gets close, or use a matte painting for a part of the level the character can't reach. In the Sims 2 the developers couldn't use a lot of those shortcuts because part of the game is placing objects on a lot in any configuration the player wants. So generally the back of the object has to be as detailed as the front. This leads to an older game that can still generate a lot of lag on newer systems depending on your computer, graphic settings, how much CC you have, and how many things you have on a lot.

Well, I've had those makeup for a LONG time, but, I never create sims 2 in the game, I always go into the bodyshop and make them first, because that way it's much faster and easier. So I don't go into the makeup section in the game CAS that much.
