Are you using any mods?

I do know that forcing TSM to use SLI results in some strangeness in CAS, but everything else looks okay.

Honestly though, I believe EA has a Tech Support forum. You will probably find others who have had a similar issue there if you aren't using any Mods from MTS.

Looks like you're using unsupported graphics. Generic mobile Intel is not supported for Medieval. Not gonna work on your system and it would be a Very Bad Idea to continue trying to play it on that system as what you have is not meant to be running any kind of high-strain 3D games.

That model is supposed to have a Radeon 5145 though - and I'm seeing ATI-related stuff as well, so I'm wondering if you don't have it disabled somehow. The 5145 isn't supported either, but might be able to run the game in a not permanently-computer-breaking way.

Hmm, but my laptop has switchable graphics: it switches from intel for basic tasks to AMD Radeon HD 6630 for heavy graphics games/programs. Maybe dxdiag detected the intel graphics because I used Radeon for The Sims Medieval.

So there's no possible way to see normal sims unless i change the graphics card because everything else in the game is fine; only the sims look like they've melted.

So...is there a way this can be fixed? ;x

You could try turning off the graphics switching? I don't use a laptop myself so I'm not sure how critical that could be.
Basically just set the Radeon to be the only graphics card enabled so there is no chance of the OS getting confused.

edit: Oh, and nerf the hell out of your graphics settings, as it was mentioned that even your Radeon isn't 100% on running TSM. Have you run TS3 on this laptop?

Yes, i have tried it on sims 3 and i got the same sim-melting results T.T How exactly do i turn off switchable graphics though? It's kinda like a built-in function of the laptop D:


EDIT: I found out that some laptops use the BIOS method to disable the switchable graphics, but I have no idea how to do it or whether it's possible on my laptop.

You could try googling the question?
Something like
"<your Laptop model> <Laptop Brand> disable off graphics card switching"

I highly doubt you're the only person to run into this problem, unless your laptop was a custom build (which it sounds like it isn't, but I'm no expert.) so the question has likely already been asked and might have been answered as well.

Unfortunately MTS isn't a tech-support forum, so you'll likely have much better luck at getting useful help in the official support forums for The Sims 3.

I've tried googling it already, but it just says that i can switch my graphics from the ATI control center anytime for a specific program and there was no way to disable the graphics card switching. This problem may be the first of its kind though...

I've already posted this topic on the EA support forum, but I've recieved no reply until now...


I nerfed the ATI radeon graphics card settings on the ATI control center already but it's still not working....i guess my laptop may not be built to play games from the sims franchise cos other games' graphics work perfectly well >_>
