Default Names for neighborhoods!
What is the name of your custom neighborhood, or do you have a few? Do you have a cute and clever set of names for your sub-hoods? Tell us all about them!

I only have one custom neighborhood and it's named Yahana Valley. Don't ask where I got it from, I just made it up. LOL I love it and it's the only neighborhood I play.

My first custom neighbourhood was called Shangri-La, the second Alpintown. After that came many more that i can't remember, but my current one is Dommeville (it's in the proces of getting replaced) and the next is yet undecided.

The first thing I did was delete the three premade hoods and created Montridge.
I now have Legacey Falls and Friendly. Both of those are basically Legacey type games.
Echo is the hood I use to tell Sim stories.
I made a neighborhood (the name escapes me) that I put people from books and T.V. shows in, but got sick of it and deleted it.
I did make a custom college in Friendly (Pembroke University) so my Sims can brag that they went to P.U.

I had a Shangri-La also. Although perfection it wasn't. And dozens of other neighborhoods I can't remember. My latest is my sci-fi neighborhood Traznok.

ETA: I'm going to be creating my Lord of the Flies/Castaway Island next so if anyone has used or knows an appropriate name then please, please share. I'm terrible at naming things.

when i put my game on my new computer, i deleted all the maxis hoods and made my own, Dawncrest, named after a neighborhood in my hometown. Thats the only one I have now but I had a few in older installs on the other computer, Beaver Creek and Persimmon (also hometown neighborhoods, Persimmon being the one that my parents live in) being two of the most popular. I'm not a big fan of themed neighborhoods, being a bit too lazy to have to go through all the themed downloads and keep specific neighborhoods in them. :D

I made a new Riverblossom Hills - its my favourite neighbourhood ever, filled with victorian style houses. Second neighbourhood is called Saint-Saens, it has a gothic theme.
Third is Rio Grande Do Sul, an exotic place.
Fourth is Palookaville, an alien weirdo nbhood. It was the name of a record and I don't know what it means..

My sims all live in Massachussettes. In very organised ways. Each street has a number and so does each house. Differnt places have names too. So the houses are like, Milan Bay 1.1, or Cittagazze 2.4.

To be, or not to be,
That is the question.

The only custom neighborhood that's worked for me was made by my sister. She called it Alice Springs. She says she got it from a book.

My first custom neighborhood (that I remember..) was named Davorcica. It was like one big massive soap opera. It eventually got way too massive, so I created a backup of it and then deleted it from my game.

Storybook Village is my contest and photoshoot neighborhood, which has been deleted and remade several times.

Perdition is my 1930's mafia 'hood. Everyone's Omerta counterparts live here. Named for the movie Road to Perdition.

Wisteria Lane was my first modern 'hood since I purged my downloads folder of everything that was not period authentic. I played it right up until two of my favorite Sims completely disappeared - I ruined the neighborhood after trying to get them back and was forced to delete it. Named after Desperate Housewives. :D

Davis Junction was my first attempt at restoring my modern 'hood after Wisteria Lane got majorly borked. I got tired of the layout after about three days and deleted it. It was named after an actual town in Illinois.

Isla Royale is my current modern neighborhood - it's a pristine little Florida Keys island for the well-off. Named after Casino Royale, my favorite Bond movie.

Pardon me while I have a strange interlude.

I like to take common words and put it them in Spanish or French to make them sound more exotic. Nueva Verde was the first of many I did along this theme. I've lived in several towns that had names like that ... Villa Rica and Punta Gorda for example. In English those names wouldn't be so great.

Palm Springs is my main neighbourhood. It has a desert terrain and everyone is really into money, and making pretty kids. The ugly ones don't get to pass on their genetics.

Utopia is where all my favourite sims are backed-up to, and live lives of luxury.

Sweet Valley has all my fantasy/custom skin sims, which are really just normal sims with different skin tones and un-natural eyes. I don't use cheats in this one.

My custom neighborhood is Sauveterre Isle. It's french for "safe haven" and is a town in France. I simply added 'Isle' due to the fact that it is one.

Mine is currently "Fane of the Drow", which is a location name within the role-playing game "Dungeons and Dragons" - I am slowly turning my townies into drows to keep in tune with the name.
