Maybe if I download avocado toast for my sims, they'll stop being able to afford mansions after generation two

Sounds like you need some mods to reduce the cash flow @kestrellyn My sims are so poor the kids have to move in with their parents in tiny little houses!

Yvelotic2001 sounds like a great idea, but I've never seen any. :/

Yeah, it's not really quite that bad in my game. The main source of unearned money is from career level ten chance cards, especially that one in the gamer career. My house rule is to never ignore chance cards, but maybe I will intentionally pick the wrong answer the next time it comes up.
