The welcome wagon for the Pleasantview School was Dina Caliente and Don and Cassandra Goth... I don’t know how, but Dina and Don ended up kissing on the sidewalk while I didn’t greet them. Cassandra got furious. Great. Luckily, Christina (Don’s and Cassandra’s daughter) didn’t see all of this going down. Also, Dina is still supposed to be in prison, but she keeps walking around since I don’t have a hack to make the prisoner token work.

Do you have the token in your sim's inventory? Also, do you have the Visitor controller enabled on your lots?

The prisoner token will automatically keep them off lots with the controller in use.

Now for what's happening in my game:

Today my computer's video card decided to unexpectedly pass away from unknown causes. All I know is that I played a game this morning, (not the pixels) and shut it down. When I turned it back on, all that happened was whirring and a high-pitched whine that sounded very ominous.

Computer would not load. I was not happy. Pulling it apart for husband to look at, he declared the cause of malfunction-"video card has kicked up its little feet and died."

Actually, I was relieved.I was expecting that the hard drive was deceased. That would have left me in tears.

New video card now ordered and on its' way to me. Got one that has actually more memory than its predecessor! Yay!

So for the moment all activity in Tinsel Town and other environs is suspended.I know better than to push my luck with the on-board graphics chip that came with the computer. No-I'm not going to play any game until the new card is installed.

Besides, it's almost too hot to play any game for long. I'll survive.

Huh... so if I have the controller on the lot, they’ll automatically be banned? I thought I couldn’t find that option on the tree.

Yes-it sees the token without having you to manually trigger it.

Although: (a big caveat here) If you personally send a pixel with a prisoner token into a lot that has been set for banning, that will not affect their visit. It does not work if that happens.

The visitor controller only works on non-playables.

It's been awhile since Allister Whitney came up on the rotation.

Last time, he brought his 3 oldest children- twins Hailey and Natalie, and Allister Jr- to the Whitney family beach house for a weeklong vacation. On Day 2, girlfriend Leighton Mayer showed up and he introduced her to the kids. They were understandably wary at first, but the vacation went well.

Now that Leighton has graduated university and met his children, it was time for Allister to take the next step and propose. He had it all arranged- a romantic dinner at Londoste with a surprise proposal.

Then, literally as he's proposing to Leighton at the table, ex-wife Olivia showed up to the restaurant IN HER WEDDING DRESS.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw her. To be fair, Olivia has already remarried and is pregnant with her second child with new husband Kevin Donnelly, but understandably, she harbors feelings about her husband continuing his relationship with the young woman he cheated on her with, so the timing was pretty priceless.

Even better, this want appeared for Allister:

Allister and Leighton decided to make a hasty exit to avoid a confrontation, but outside, they ran into his older brother James and stopped to chat. Who should arrive but Samantha Montgomery- Allister's longtime friend (and former bootycall). Samantha made a passing assessment of Leighton, but didn't even greet James or Allister, despite being their best friend since childhood.

And to carry through with the metaphor for this evening, the evil witch appeared and started a thunderstorm.

Allister invited Leighton back to his place. This part was more successful than the restaurant. The wedding will need to be planned quickly, as Leighton is now pregnant with twins- his third set.

For my Elgin hood, I put all its sims in a house and watched them die. I'm planning on starting a new integrated hood. This time there won't be a Real Sickness mod to kill off a third of its population.

My Beginning Pleasantview hood is going on round 4. Hood-wide drama is approaching as Romance sims are adding to their body count.

There's no drama, like Sims drama.

Currently Playing: Sims 2 again!

Yep, they do that. I've always wondered it they just don't have facilities at home. The worst is when they walk around the house afterwards in their old-lady undies, or, God bless them, naked.

I haven't seen that yet, but I do have an apartment with a swimming pool. The nanny is rarely out of the pool and never out of her swimsuit.

Nannies take baths - especially when working long hours and some of them are probably neat sims. I definitely have a sporty(as well) one, always trying to entice the kids into playing kicky bag or toss football (and having a bath afterwards)

God, I'm so indecisive. I just pulled a ton of CC and deleted all of my medieval stuff because I can never stick with anything and I was changing a ton of stuff up

I kept the dresses I made. Of course I kept them! I'm proud of them :D

Nearing the end of my Elsewhere rotation. I've played two families today. It's tax season and both had warnings from the last time that happened. Both families were summarily sent to the Prison Hood.

I know this looks like a double post, but it's a different topic and a couple of days after the original, so let's pretend it isn't.

Playing my final family in my current Elsewhere communist hood rotation. It's been a little weird.

Since the Sager family had previously been living in a tiny, almost unusable house in Elsewhere, several members had died off. One of them was Gwen's husband. So she was SUPER unhappy about winning the baby lottery. Also, all her children are either grown or in college, so she really thought she was done with babies.

The Council gave her a new husband, Cyd Delarosa. He was furious about being pulled away from his children. Since their mother died, they needed their daddy more than ever, and he's nothing if not a good dad. But he was ordered to marry Gwen, thus leaving the kids all alone in the prison hostel.

Here's where things get weird. Sardonyx, Gwen's son has become quite the rebel since he was transformed into a werewolf. He figured he was already breaking the law, so he might as well go all the way. He traded his wolfy services one night to a friend from work. The friend was having problems with a neighbor. In return, the friend gave him a phone that could be used to call Grimmie. Sardonyx wasn't really interested in it, but it was a cool thing to have.

Anyway, when Cyd discovered the phone, he snuck out in the dead of night and tried to resurrect his toddler child, Hawaii. He paid the money and waited.....

Grimmie has a bit of a sense of humor. He resurrected teen Dawn Boggle instead. Cyd has no idea who she is, but she immediately moved in and has started flirting with the boys. Magic was not happy about the whole darn thing, so it moved Ethan Barrett into the home to punish the family.

Ethan's not thrilled. He, too, is a single father and has left little ones with no one to care for them. But, YOWZA! Look at that Gwen! Even pregnant, she's a pretty woman. He's thrown his three bolts in her direction a few times, but appears to be too shy to make a move. She's definitely noticed him, too. But, she doesn't want to hurt Cyd, even though she kind of doesn't like him.

Since things are already a bit chaotic at home, Rob felt no one would notice if he moved in this random woman he found picking through their trash. She's a pretty girl, but a bit down on her luck. She's a drifter, moving around a lot to keep the Council from noticing her, just living under the radar. She's pregnant, doesn't know who the father is, and doesn't plan on keeping the baby.

That broke Rob's heart. He's always wanted children, but the Council won't even let him marry. He convinced her to come into the house and stay with them awhile. Since Gwen is pregnant and the women are due around the same time, Gwen will pretend the baby is hers. That way Kumu (the woman) can drift on with her aimless life and the baby will be okay.

See, just kind of weird. I'm still not done, but that's a lot of change in just a little while.

Well I wasted about 2 hours redecorating a lot I wanted to use for an orphanage, only to find out it was packaged without a mailbox OR a trashcan . I don't know how to possibly bring them back so I deleted the lot from the bin, so I'm very upset right now

Bless you Justpetro, I'll try out all of those once I get some sleep (I've been on a weird sleep schedule the past few days). I don't know how that could've happened because all the other lots I installed have mailboxes and trash cans, but I couldn't tell from the thumbnail since there was a fence (it's this house by the way).

Newly weds Hywel and Suki McGreggor welcomed in twin boys Fingal and Tadhg. Considering Hywel is a twin and Suki is one of quads, it was no surprise they would be blessed with twins. What was surprising though was straight after Suki gave birth, a tree set on fire and then Hywel got struck by lightening and died. Luckily Suki was there and quickly bargained with the grim reaper and this lucky family got to live another day.

Well, of course, Gwen had quads and the drifter, Kumu, had triplets. So, Gwen just registered seven infants with the Council. Their neighboring, enemy country, Downton, where children are very scarce and fertility is very low, is considering offering her a signing bonus to emigrate.

I'm in the final stage of putting together my legacy hood Grissettown. I just to find one more lot (preferably one with a desert ranch/farm aesthetic) to really tie it together. After that I'll move on to make my Sims and townies

Downton, Sunny Meadows neighborhood. Julien Cooke moved into his new apartment. It's going to be tough making rent with his low-wage restaurant gig. He called his cousin, Trent Traveller, and asked whether he and Trisha would consider giving life another go. They've been hiding out since their daughter, Tina, was snatched by the Eyes and given to another family. Tina had been angry with her mom and told a playmate that Trisha had been married before and her marriage to Trent wasn't legal. No one checked. They just snatched.

Since that time, Trent and Trisha had been in hiding, just disgusted with the world.. Julien would often buy groceries and other necessities and take them to the couple. But, he thought it was probably time to come in from the cold.

They agreed and the trio moved in together. Trent got a job in a music store, and Trisha stayed home and tried to learn to cook. Julien found that painful since he loves to cook, himself, and is much better at it.

Trisha found Tina. She invited her over and wanted to persuade her to move back in with them. But, Tina's married now (still a teen), and is happy with her family. She does come to spend every day with her mom, though.

Trisha is now happier because of that and because she had a little miracle (well, genie assisted), baby boy, Earl.

Things were humming right along until Julien had a really bad day. He cut a corner on his job and got fired. He loved working at the restaurant and fell into a deep depression. To cheer himself up, he decided to do a star-light-star-bright wish. But, he thought he would do it through the telescope...

He wasn't as depressed after the abduction, but still just didn't feel right. He found another job with NCIS, but before he started it, he realized he was a little bit pregnant. He has three choices. He can have the baby, have it taken away from him, and be punished by the Big Eye by being made an eye, himself. He can just pretend he's fat, have the baby in silence, and give it to Trisha and Trent to raise. Or, he can get married. He doesn't actually know any women, but he's kind of thinking about making a very illegal call to a matchmaker.

I have many stories to share (which I'll likely edit into this post later, so check back again!), but here's a quick one for now.

Brighton Free and Briar Kesry had a son together. Briar had no interest in raising a child, and the two spent her entire pregnancy arguing about it. When Calvin was born, she put him up for adoption in the local orphanage, which infuriated Brighton. He wanted her to raise their kid until he could save up enough to invite them to move in with him, but she insisted she was not ready for a child, financially or emotionally.

I got to the orphanage rotation and Calvin got all the way up to the child stage.

By the time Brighton's rotation came around, his mother died in a previous household, leaving him around $10,000 in inheritance. He used this money to adopt his son from the orphanage. He spent the week juggling his son, his career, and his business, putting Calvin at the top of the list. They were getting really close...

until Saturday came.

A fierce storm roared outside, where Brighton was chatting it up with a neighbor. Lightning struck a tree and there was a fire. I normally ignore this, and instruct my Sims to do the same, because 99% of the time the rain puts the fire out.

Well, this fire was part of the 1%.

I wondered why it hadn't gone out yet, so I went over to Brighton and saw that the fire was on the ground. I set him to call the fire department (Calvin was asleep, and I didn't think to have him do it), but it was too late.

Brighton died. Five days after finally meeting (and adopting) his son, and one day before his kid's birthday.

Calvin is not having a happy life so far.

Brighton's business got transferred to his brother Jonah, who will not be pleased with the idea of having to actually do work. He'll most likely sell it, because it's free money and he's too selfish to pass it to his nephew.

I love it when the game throws me a curve ball.

After his father's death, Calvin spent some time autonomously cleaning before he burst into tears.
