Thank you so much.I cannot keep my sims social up without it.

ETA: I did register there yesterday but am still waiting for the email to inform me of my membership status, after clicking on the email confirmation link.

Meanwhile I gave up trying to play The Complete Collection since it was too hard to accomplish anything.I unistalled that and at my Daughter's suggestion, just installed my original discs for The Sims,Livin Large,Hot Date and Unleashed.I would have also installed House Party if I had it,but I had never bought that one for some reason.Don't know why,but it seems slower paced and easier to work with without the other 3 games included,LOL!

I use WinRAR for almost all downloads, no matter the game. "Unzipping program" - I'm confused....with winrar, you download to the location you choose, then double click or right click to open the file. Sims 1 downloads go in the program files under Maxis/the Sims and are in a folder called "downloads". Does that answer the question?

P.S. No need to double post, just edit your last message if it's the last one in the thread.

Thank you .That may be the answer I need. If that program is ok to use with WINXP?
Unzipping.... the custom content for the Sims comes in zipped files which have to be opened/unzipped for the objects to be installed into the game. Originally years ago we used Sims File Maid and dragged the zipped files onto the lawn and the files were extracted and the objects placed into the game.

I never used file maid. During sims 1 I used netzip. XP came with WinZIP which did away with the need for that, and then I moved on to rar when I came across the first download packed using it that I didn't want to pass up. rar is a better compression system overall I think and a program I wouldn't be without now. Just be sure to get the one that matches your system (32 or 64 bit)

I don't know, there's a lot at that site and I've yet to figure out a good way to navigate it. You know, there are a ton of other objects for keeping Sims motives up.

ATS: http://sims1.aroundthesims3.com/objects/food_00.html - objects, food, mood boosters - three pages worth. These are among some of the best.

Some Sim Things:http://www.somesimthings.com/Obj/05Obj.htm - sculptures that refresh and more

Sim Logical: http://www.drealm.info/simlogical/s...s/downloads.htm - look under "motives & skills"

Free The Magic: http://sims1downloads.webs.com/freethemagicv2.htm - huge sculpture that refreshes motives and more

Gnohmon's Sims 1: http://mistymage.com/gnohmongoodies/moods.html - under motives, coffee pots and other things

That's just scratching the surface, too.
