Default How to make a shirt look more realistic?
So i'm making a shirt and I want to know how to add more texture to it to make it more realistic. Because right now it literally looks like I did it in Microsoft paint. (I use gimp)
Ignore the thing on the hand. I'm not done

(I'm not sure if the picture is showing up so heres the link too)

You're gonna need some wrinkles and crinkles on your diffuse/multiplier texture. Now I don't know how to do folds and/or wrinkles, and I also work with GIMP, but this Second Life tutorial seems like it could be useful.

I actually made a tutorial that could help you out making things easier. I prefer handdrawing them but I've also explained a non-handdrawing technique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKHlHyU2pto

Both of those require Blender though. It's a great thing to do, and I now want to give it a shot myself, but what if you can't get the GEOM plugins to work with Blender at all?

If never got them to work in my Blender >.< But I usually mesh in Blender, export that as a OBJ, and in Milkshape turn it into a game friendly mesh! (like adding bones, fixing things, etc.) Though I think someone made a GEOM importer/exporter for Maya or 3D max that's still working. ^-^
