Businesses For Premades: Your Thoughts?
I am vaguely planning yet another 'hood, and I am interested in other simmers' ideas regarding premade sims and business ownership/management.I am planning an uberhood with all EAxis sims, including spookierswamp and other simmers' parents/families for students, as well as Widespot and the Land Grant University sims and their parents/families.
I want to have lots of owned businesses in the 'hood, which will be a large town/small city. Are there any premades who would (or do!) run a particular type of business, in your opinion/game? Are there any who would manage another sim's business? How would/do you decide which sim(s) own or manage businesses, and what type of business they would own or manage?
Money is no object as I will use money cheats during set up as required. I am also hoping to use "placeholder" servos to own businesses, so that a playable sim can manage a business without it needing to be owned by another playable. And I use a mod which allows any sim to become a manager, regardless of badges/skills/experience.
So all ideas are welcome, and I look forward to reading everyone's thoughts! :-)

Those.
They should use The Sims 2 in psychology....it could work wonders.

In my game, Don Lothario owns the only casino across four towns. It suits him! It has a fully stocked bar, poker, mah-jong, and a buffet for sims to feel comfortable while they throw away their life savings. He also meets a lot of women through the business.
Gilbert Jacquet opened up a sports center in Pleasantview with an indoor ice skating rink and an indoor soccer field for the local kids to practice in. Typically, I like sims' businesses to coincide with their hobbies and interests, and Gilbert had no ambition whatsoever to run his parents' bakery. Something similar happened with the Ramirez family. Check grew his passion for art to the point that he couldn't stand to run the furniture store anymore, so he sold it and opened a pottery studio instead. When his daughter graduated college, he built a hair salon for her to run next door.
Florence Delarosa runs a community garden in the busy urban downtown district, and it suits her very well. It gets her out of her shell a bit while allowing her to engage with what she knows. Erin Singles owns a landscaping business (they sell decorative yard pieces) which she started from home, and plans to expand to its own location. Brandi Broke is going to move away with her second husband and open up a tailor shop in the sticks, so she can live a simple and happy life after all the drama of her adulthood. Her son Dustin is really industrious, but poor, so I'll have to see how his aspiration to own his own business plays out.

I had Nina Caliente (Dina moved out on her own) stick a hot tub and bubble blower on the roof and stick a bandatron in her house. She likes getting the money.
The Cordials opened a witchery shop in Belladonna Cove. They sell the stuff that can be made from cauldrons, Parsimonious's Panacea potions, and a bunch of decorative objects. They did well enough to hire my self-Sim as a cashier!
Leod McGreggor runs McGreggor's Greens. Alongside the produce (both Maxis and various stuff from Sun&Moon), he also sells juicers and a few custom edible objects (Exnem's fruit basket and chocolate boxes, IIRC). He hired two townies, a cashier and a restocker, and promoted one to manager.
Though nobody's taken advantage of it quite yet, Cyd Roseland boards other peoples' pets for them on vacation. It's not a 'proper' OFB but rather moving the pet over to Cyd's household and charging so much money per vacation-day. Because I've had problems with vacations getting cancelled because the nannies go "there aren't any kids!" and immediately leaving.

Monty - a restaurant or bakery, with assorted relatives as employees
Consort Capp - a bank
Mary Gavigan - a garage/gas station; I've had her selling restored cars before. If the Newsons have tinkering hobbies, they could either be employees or have a similar business themselves.
Rich Mann - an import/export shop with a back room or basement for stolen/smuggled goods or a hidden gambling den
Sandy Beech - a dance and yoga studio; I'm not sure if her OTH is normally fitness, but that's what she has in my current game, and I think yoga fits her well.
David Ottomas - shop selling instruments, with practice/lesson rooms.
Peter Ottomas - a sporting venue - a skating arena, soccer stadium, bowling alley...
Brandi Broke - hair salon as she has high interest in fashion, and I prefer having her start with a home business.
Heather Huffington - clothing store
JoAnn Gutenberg - a bar with a performance stage

@stitching - the OTH is based on their personality. If you have two Sims with identical personalities they have the same hobby. So unless someone randomizes theirs, Sandy Beech always has fitness as a OTH.

in the genderswapped uberhood skip broke had a hair salon
but in my megahood i want each family to have a business and i feel like the pleasant sisters can end up like the pointer sisters or the Williams sisters so they'd have a lounge for singing or a sports field
the caliente sisters will have a matchmaking business
and the monty family will run a grocery shop which sells fresh food and a restaurant .

I know, and I had randomized everyone's hobbies and couldn't recall what her original one was. Looking at her now, her OTH probably wasn't fitness as that's Outgoing/Active, and she's shy (2 outgoing). Her original OTH was probably sports (Active/Grouchy), but may have been science (Neat/Serious).
I still think a small business related to whatever her hobby is works for her. It would give her some space from her mother-in-law and the rest of the family. If her OTH is sports, I'd have her open a park venue with a rink and a soccer field between the swimming hole and the Beech residence.
