Default "Export to .s3m2b" option not available
So I've been trying to make objects for a while and I spotted this tutorial:http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...nder_2.5_Part_1

It's been really clear so far, but I'm getting a bit confused. They said to right click and choose "export to .s3m2b" but that option doesn't appear. I've made sure S3PE is updated fully but I've tryed both exporting options and neither are the right file type. Am I missing something or is the tutorial out of date? I have everything that it said I needed.

Hey Gecko_sis!

Do you mean "Import to ,s3m3b"? Because I don't see any export. Maybe I'm really blind. Anyway, if it doesn't show up in "import" (If this is the case at least) I suppose you need a plugin for Blender to do that, which is linked on the page, but here is also the link to it: http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=423406
I hope this helps you out! ^-^

Thanks. I've got the plug-in for blender. It says to export as .s3m2b from SimPE but the option isn't there.

Do you mean S3PE? Because so far I know, MLODs can be found in a sims 3 package. In step 4, it says that you have to open the package, then click the MLOD (as you can see in the picture) and export it as a .s3m2b. The s3m2b is the MLOD. (Took me a few minutes to figure out though, because I do meshing in a whole different way)
Then, after you did that, you have to open Blender, and that's why you needed the plugin for Blender the "s3m2b/MLOD" so you can import the mesh into Blender. It's kind of confusing if this is the first time making your own mesh. Are you trying to make something for the sims 3 or sims 2?

Oh, ok. I tryed exporting the file but neither package or file options seem to work because blender doesn't accept it for what ever reason. If i helps this is what I get when I right click. The "preview mlod" option dissappear when I updated and re-installed everything.

Hmm strange... Did you hover over the "export" option? Or clicked on it? DOes it give you any option? Maybe it works to export another MLOD, since there are more than one?

The options it gives me are export to file which can only export as .lod and export to package which exports a dbpf file. Blender doen't accept either.

Hey Gecko_sis!

I found a fix! I started following the tutorial to see if in S3PE the option really wasn't there, and it looked like it that you were right! Though, there is something that isn't described in the tutorial, and that's the MeshHelper-s3m2b for S3PE. You should see it as a plugin for S3PE. Since the site is down, I got a link to download it! You can find it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sim...b/12-0601-2217/

Though, the tool doesn't work in my blender, since I have the latest version, so I should try Blender 2.63 instead, which can be found here: http://download.blender.org/release/

Let me know if something is wrong! But I guess this will help you progress somewhat more! ^-^
