Turning a large arch way into a full set of windows and doors help!
Hello! I'm very much new to the whole objects creation modding scene and I tend to bite off more than I can chew in creative projects but I really want to give this a shot! Anyway~
I really want to create a set of Windows and Doors/arches based off the Inflected Archway from the Last Venue of Amore, this arch to be exact:
The arch way is 2 stories tall t squares wide and takes up 8 squares.
I want to make the windows and doors similar in appearance to the once in this pic:
Now I've already extracted the the Archway from the Sims3pack using s3rc and the multi installer , but i'm not sure what to do next haha!
I do have Milkshap, S3pe, TSRW, gimp
Any help, relevant tutorials, etcs would be most welcome!
Thank you!

Wow, I just realise how similair it is to the Dragon age windows! Though, I know that TSRW doesn't accept store items, unless you did it the way around and it might work if you extract it from a sims3pack to a package with this amazing tool: http://modthesims.info/d/364038
I'm not sure though. You can import a sims3pack and a package file into TSRW really easily! Just click (when in the homescreen of TSRW) 'Create new project' from there you can choose whatever you want to make/clone, but there is also something else you can use in this screen called 'New import' This gives you the ability to import a package/sims3pack. Small note on using TSRW for the sims 3. I strongly recommend to use TSRW 1.72 which you can find on my download page on my tumblr: http://greenplumbboblover.tumblr.co...005426/tsrw-172
If, which could be a big chance since it's a store item, TSRW doesn't accept the package/sims3pack (depends how you import it) you could got all the way around with opening the package with S3PE and export the GEOM files and textures and import your GEOM file into Milkshape with this plugin: http://modthesims.info/t/357403
Great tutorials on how to make CC are mostly on the modthesims site, where they use something different than TSRW, but I think it's a bit harder than using TSRW, but everyone has it's opinions on what is easier and what not.
Tutorials
TSRW: http://wiki.thesimsresource.com/ind...ating_Tutorials or: http://wiki.thesimsresource.com/ind...ry:TSR_Workshop
And of course the wikia/modthesims: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...=Sims_3:Modding
Milkshape is a great meshing tool too, but if you're more like the '3d view' type (and I know it's possible with Milkshape as well but it's just harder for me) you could check out Blender
Let me know if you have some questions on exporting and all ^-^

Hmmm that's weird. And opening it in TSRW doesn't work as well? Nevermind! I forgot only CAS meshes has GEOM files like that. In S3PE you might see MLOD/MODL these are the 'level of detail' (when you zoom out the mesh will be really square-y, you'll experience this when you have a HQ mod). basically. Though, the S3PE doesn't have this exporter for it in default. I helped someone to find this plugin in this thread: http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...289#post4895289
And a Milkshape 3D plugin that I didn't add to the post (because it was a Blender plugin), Wes made a Milkshape plugin (make sure you download the 1.01V behind it, so the last one of the list): http://modthesims.info/t/363908
Sorry I confused you there >-<

Ah! Thank you for the clarification!
Well I was able to open it up in milkshape and using a cloned window as a guide shrink it down to size. My next issue is can you model new stuff in milkshape or is Blender or what ever its called better suited ?

That depends. I know a lot of people like Milkshape a lot, but I just can't stand the program when i'm actually meshing. I like meshing in Blender more. I should take a look at these By the way, I looked at the windows again, and if you don't really know how to start making these edges in the window self, you could take a reference mesh from another window, place that in the arch way and you have an awesome window! Just sharing some ideas here XD

If you want to start using Blender, you could take a look at this tutorial! It's the way I learned it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT2mtoDnSzM (they're in parts. I skipped some because I'm sure you know how to download things.)
