This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage
Default Neighborhood Camera....all blue!
It's been YEARS since I've done Sims2 so when I saw Aspyr had it (Super Collection), i went for it. Back then, I was on Windows but now on a Mac and am trying to figure out the camera mods. I replaced just the neighborhood one (saving the original) and everything was BLUE on my sc4 'hood I created. The hood shows up in the menu and it fine (within limits) until I put in the mod. Then everything goes blue when loaded. There are NUMEROUS files in the camera folder on my Mac. CineCam, CAS, Content Viewer, etc. Now, If I am going to do a camera mod to be able to view custom sc4 maps, Do I take ALL the originals out of the folder? I think it was GunMod's I used way back when, but I cannot even recall what I did back then. Please help! Thanks in advance!

The best bet is to keep a backup copy of the camera(s) you’re replacing, so you can put it back again if the tweaked version causes any issues. You can replace just one camera or all of them. I often only do the neighbourhood camera for the exoanded zoom out, and leave the others as they were. The game expects to find a camera file with each of those names - if one or more aren’t there it won’t know what to do.

As far as I know there shouldn’t be anything in a camera mod which is incompatible with the Mac version. I’ve generally used the Tom Duhamel set here http://modthesims.info/d/312294 with Sims 2 Super Collection, though I’ve also used the TheJessaChannel neighbourhood camera. I got that from this compilation list:

I don’t use all the cameras in that list myself, but it gets recommended by Criquette, who I believe also uses the Mac version of the game, and it should avoid any incompatibility crashes if you use Skyfix as well.

Thank you SO much for helping me!! So, if I try the Tom Duhamel set, it is one file....do I take out ALL of the files in the camera folder? There are numerous files in there.....or do I just replace a certain one with the downloaded file?

You pick and choose which ones you want. There are 7 files in that one download.

@carrie640

Yeah each file is separate, they all go into the Cameras folder located in The Sims 2 folder, but you pick and choose which ones you like I have these BuildCamera.txt, CASCamera.txt, FirstPersonCameras.txt, LiveCamera.txt, NeighborhoodCamera.txt myself and I have them all Labeled Green with the Finder Labeling feature. Makes it easy to know which ones are the ones I replaced. Mine come from Tom Duhamel http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=312294

I particularly liked how Tom describes how each camera mod works and I recommend these particular ones myself, I am sure that there are others out there that are equally good though.
