Default go to bed
Looking for a mod that makes Sims find a bed, rather than crash on the couch. Thought that "assignable" beds would work - don't.

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..

You might try Two-Jeffs' hack:

Smart Beds:
"If you've used ACR you'll be familiar with how this works, although this is a separate mod from ACR (and compatible with it). Forces the bed ownership system already in the game to actually work. Sims will autonomously only use the bed they have the most ownership of. Also includes a couple new pie menu options on the sim menu to set/clear bed ownership. In Hotels in Bon Voyage, bed ownership is currently not used. Sims can sleep in any bed as long as they are checked in. See the RTFM for the gory details. It may or may not conflict with another mod that affects sleep/relaxing.
Compatibility Notes: Pescado's bedsidefix from MATY conflicts with Smart Beds and is not necessary, that fix is included."

Unless you're using it already-and in that case, I have nothing else.

Maybe stopping autonomous napping on couches will work? I find that when used with the Smart Beds mod mentioned above, they automatically go to their assigned beds instead.

Simler90 also has a mod that makes sims sleep in their own beds. It's similar to TwoJeffs' mod, but some people find that there is enough of a difference to prefer one mod or the other. It sounds like Simler90's mod should prevent them from crashing on the couch although there is a version that allows very lazy sims to just sleep wherever and whenever they want.

Here is how the mod works. Below, the term "available bed" means a bed which has at least one side available, and on which nobody is jumping. Whenever a sim autonomously considers sleeping in a particular bed:
- The game checks to see if there are any other available beds on the lot. If not, the sim is allowed to sleep in that particular bed.
- If there are any other available beds, the game checks the sim's relationship with them, and if the sim has a higher relationship with any other available bed on the lot, then the sim is not allowed to sleep in that particular bed they were originally considering sleeping in. In other words, sims will choose their own beds to sleep in as long as they are available. If they are not available, then they are allowed to sleep in other beds.

I got tired of finding sims in other sims' beds, cancelling the Sleep interaction and waiting for them to wake up, so that I could direct them to their own bed. This mod makes it so that you don't have to do any of that any more, as sims now know which bed is theirs.

COMPATIBILITY: I can only guarantee that this mod will work if you have all EPs. If you don't have all EPs, then I think you will need at least Pets.

I thought I had TwoJeffs; when I click on a bed (but not ALL beds) I get a big menu, like "assign bed to". But when I searched for it specifically, could not find it; so maybe I already had the other one? So I did download TwoJeffs smart bed...will see what happens.

If you have a menu like that, you probably already have some sort of bed mod in your game. When you put TwoJeffs' Smart Bed mod in your game, run the Hack Conflict Detector. It will probably detect a conflict and that will show you what folder both mods are in.

It sounds like Pescado's bed hack/sleep clock. That has assigned beds. Two Jeffs just lets you select and set a bed for the pixel in question.

With 2Jeffs, pets could no longer sleep on kids beds, and (in Uni) when I click on a bed I usually get only option to "relax" - is someone already in their "assigned" bed? Too much hassle, I just removed it.

I recently had the 'nap on couches' hack in my game-and it does override TJ's hack. I got rid of it, and the problem disappeared.
I also have a hack by XPTL that makes sims go to bed automatically at 11 pm-the kids at 8. Between the two of those, nobody ever winds up in the wrong bed.

I haven't had the ability to make pets sleep on beds for ages. All I get is relax. I have to let them do it autonomously. I wonder if that's caused by this hack.
