Default Why are my pics stretched beyond their actual size making them ugly?
So for example, in this thread of mine http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=626893, my pics are huge because they are being stretched to fill the whole page. It makes it annoying to open that thread because it feels like you got slapped in a face with a fish made of ugly. Also, those pics do not reflect what it actually looks like in the game which is kinda important for the sake of that thread.

So this is the true size and quality of the pic inside photoshop. See how much space it occupies in my screen.
Here is the same pic but stretched to hell. It takes majority of the space on my screen. Why? How do I fix this?

That particular picture of the girl on the horse facing forward is 1063x1407 pixels, so it's not actually a small picture. It appears to be showing as it should in the thread for that size image

If you want it to show as a thumbnail, you can link that instead of the full image, and then people can click on it to see it full sized, or else you will have to possibly sacrifice quality by reducing the image size. In order for you to be able to link to a thumbnail, you will need to attach the images to the post itself, and not linked through imgur, though. You just need to click on "Go Advanced" when editing your post and scroll down to see the attachment section.

It will look like this when you link the thumbnail:

I hope that helps!

It's not a small picture no, but it shouldn't go from occupying one thirds of my screen to more than half of my screen just by posting it on MTS. Especially in a way that distorts it making inaccurare. If you go back to that thread and right-click on the 1st image and select "open image in new tab" it will be shown in correct size. So that tells me it is not imgur doing it, as it can show it correctly, the problem comes from using the img tags on this forum.

Is there some kind of default setting on this forum that does that? I play in 1440.

The image is, as Simmiller pointed out, 1063 pixels wide and 1407 high and is displayed as-is (max-width:100%) So if you have a 1440p monitor you *should* expect to see this full viewport height. (Since 1440p is only slightly more than 1407). It's also *not* distorted since it's displaying at native resolution.

When you open it in a new tab whats happening is that imgur is actually resizing it downwards to fit in the viewport. On my screen, for example, it's set as: <img style="-webkit-user-select: none;cursor: zoom-in;" src="https://i.imgur.com/spXUddA.png" width="663" height="878"> directly from imgur.

So it's not actually an MTS issue, it's simply a difference in the way imgur scales it down versus actual image size. Thus, there is no bug here.

But then why does it look different on photoshop (when it is being displayed in actual size) and on MTS?

So the image appears to be same size in a browser tab, photoshop and when using window's own photo viewer? But here on MTS it is being shown like that? How do I change the image to be shown excatly like it is shown on those other 3 platforms but on MTS? I.E when I click on photoshop's "actual pixels" it shows me how the pic will look on my screen when it the picture is not being resized/scaled? I want that same to be shown in MTS.

See https://imgur.com/OVBOW6Y it on actual size on photoshop vs actual size on MTS https://imgur.com/r9NHqWv
Why does the same size of a photo take only 3rd of my screen space on the 1st image and then more than a half a screen while on MTS?

Photoshop is not displaying the full picture. Look at the bottom of the picture - you can see that in the full version, you see the feet of the rider, plus the very tops of the legs of the horse. In Photoshop it's not displaying that which means that it's cutting off part of the picture.

With regards to the width - it's ~1000 pixels wide which is approximately 39% of your screen width. The browser itself might be zoomed in, but on my screen, it is displaying at "native" resolution. If it was displaying differently, then an Inspect Element would show something like this: 912 × 1207 pixels (intrinsic: 1063 × 1407 pixels) - this means that there is scaling going on.

You'll probably see the same size image if you go to http://modthesims.info/delphy/test.html which is a quick test page that contains only the imgur link. No CSS, no extra anything. I even used a page ruler extension to verify that the image shown on MTS (and on the test page) was exactly 1063 pixels wide at 100% zoom level.

I am confused now. Sorry, but just bear with me, I'll try to explain my root problem little better.

I play full-screen mode, with 27" monitor 2560 x 1440. I have this screenshot but I only want a part of it.
The original screenshot has the dimensions of 2560 x 1440. This is how it shows in photoshop when I click on "Actual Pixels"
I believe this is true because that is exactly how my game looks like when I play in full-screen. Also if you check the bottom left corner, you see PH saying the pic is shown at 100%

I am trying to get help how to get my horse to look good in-game so I am being very pedantic about pic quality. I want to show others exactly what I see when I'm playing the game (i know it seems like nothing but this kinda stuff matters to me while playing).

So I crop the pic as there is no reason for it to be this wide.
The new dimensions are 1063 x 1407, and photoshop is showing the part of the original screenshot just like it looks like to me while playing. The bottom left corner tells the pic is shown 100% of its size.

If you look at the sims face you see it is not very pixelated nor blurry, and most importantly it reflects how my game looks like.

So I like to get that photo to show exactly like that on this forum if possible.
Currently, it is being shown in a weird manner. Also the link you gave me:

See how bad the sims' face looks now? Other can see the difference, right? It is just not me?
My game does not look like that at all. How do I get the picture look here on MTS like it does on photoshop when it is at 100%?

I'd just like to point out this is *not* a Site Issue, btw, because it happens with normal images in barebones HTML. With that said, it seems like you are probably Zooming in in your browser to make the images bigger, if they take up that amount of space.

I've tested in Chrome, Firefox and Vivaldi (the browser you are using) and in every case, the picture appears at it's correct resolution and size (1063x1407)

Fair enough. Do you want to delete this thread? I got confused because, when I right-click the 1st pic on this thread http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=626893, it opens in a new tab, and it looks close to like how my game plays IRL.

So you said imgur downscaled it to width="663" height="878" Interesting

imgur always scales it so that the height of the picture is the same as the viewport (ie browser) height, which makes the *width* smaller because it keeps the aspect ratio. That's just what it does.

I'll go ahead and close the thread now!
