Hi all-
I know there's been a myriad of issues with 8 (it ran perfectly fine under 7, but I included by dxdiag results anyways), but I've tried practically everything (patching, uninstalling and trying the solutions listedhere, etc) that I've found to solve this. The game loads perfectly fine if I change no compatibility options, but the one that seems to screw the game up the most is putting it on XP SP2, as the game will continue to load perfectly fine, but it'll take over the entire screen (I run it with the -w flag), and make my whole desktop black unless I close out of it with alt-f4.
Anyways, when I load into the game, all appears well, except for an odd thing. It keeps me in an 800x600 resolution (it ran perfectly fine at 1080x1920 under 7), and blocks me from changing a few graphics options, seen here.

Here's the important stuff from my dxdiag:
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 945 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5570
Dedicated Memory: 2036 MB

If anyone has even the slightest clue what to do, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
