I'm sorry to sound so.... pathetic? But I'm really looking for just the right niche to fit into. I can't seem to find many good websites for communicating and making friends and whatnot. Most websites I go to are teaming with Trolls, jerks and melodramatic teenagers. Does anyone know of some relatively "popular" or high-traffic forums I could check out that aren't driven by drama???

Note: Already tried Gaiaonline... that's my MAIN reason for asking here....

And I can't really seem to find any good ones.... so if anyone has some suggestions it would be useful for me, and I'm sure it will eventually find its way into a Google search Query and become useful for others.

Maybe you should just turn off the computer and go hang out with real people. It's really a clever mode of communication and making friends. And analog friends can help you move furniture, which is always a plus at some point.

First off, I forgive you for sounding pathetic sundancewhateverwhatever.

Personally I think finding your niche and making friends are completely different things (nevermind the whatnot because I have no idea what that is).

Just work out what you are interested in and be interested in it.

I found my niche based on the music I like and the area I live in. Oh how good it was. Then I tired of my niche and now I choose to float on the internet sea. Sure I miss my niche but if I go back it's not the same. The old niche is dead.

It's hard to find a good mix of people that just kinda click. Most forums bore me. One I frequent has a good mix of intelligent funny people, and the rules are incredibly lax. I mean, if you can get past all the hardcore guro porn, it's really very nice.

I guess what I'm saying is it's hard to find a good one.

I haven't found a site where people are as tolerant such as mts, even after my schizophrenic jibber jabber typed just for the hell when I haven't taken my meds. Mts has pundits, specialized and general, spiritual people, gentle gaming people, people who know themselves and human nature, and more people that are nice, the whole thing is a mix. But it doesn't seem as busy as before. You said you want high traffic and no drama, sounds like an ideal but don't give up on the idea that there is a forum for you somewhere. Stick here for now as a placeholder and keep your eyes peeled, and be grateful that mts isn't the kind of site that lets them attack you with popups and 'free online scan' material.

The other site I go to is thatguywiththeglasses. But it's not a forum just entertaining.

This is like the best site for socializing I've known, except for what, Facebook? Stay here. Make friends here, you will not be disappointed.

I guess you should find specific forums/sites that deal with your hobbies, be it music, art, sports, cinematoghph, books/specific authors, whatever. There, you have a better chance to find people whith whom you have a something to share in common. Ah, and MTS is one of such forums, to, as you can see, and I must admit, it has a friendly atmosphere.

Decide your hobbies and go searching for active forums and communities. You'd be surprised at what you might find.

For instance, I'm obsessed with snails and now belong to a snail forum. :3

It really depends on what you are into, and I guess maybe how old you are. I'm sure there are plenty of forums for teenagers, but knowing teenagers you won't find something with little melodrama.

A neat website with a hugely active community is Deviant Art, if you like science and space and stuff there's space.com, there's also a huge forum dedicated to DVD's, lol (another obsession of mine). I'm still hunting down the perfect sci-fi forum, though, there don't seem to be many that are very active that don't revolve entirely around Star Trek and Star Wars. x.x

There's also a forum about Furbies, dammit, and yes I'm a member *blows rasberry*

Depends what interest's you, if there is a particular hobby you like then find forums for that hobby and surely you will make friends, and if not ModTheSims have a great community and usually bans trolls and evildoers lol and MTS is a "Popular heavy traffic site" and all the Drama stays in drama sections and threads, I guess all I am saying is there are always people here, many different types of people and there are groups here on ModTheSims for certain hobbies and aspects for your individual needs. You could always do Facebook,Twitter,Tumblr,Myspace,Deviant-Art, and Youtube yes, but ModTheSims is always here for you too
