I got a residence and a roommate... I don't really enjoy nonsensical lots made only for skilling or money... but there are also great ones...

But jobs, activities, minigames and music are awesome

Pictures soon

My old bed, and house exterior:

Chess lot:

Getting another roommate (now I have 2):

And ofcourse, my job (level 2):

Edit:

Realised that one of the best Sims 2 expansions came from this game... Open For Business! This game is made upon that concept, and has active careers... Way ahead it's time if you ask me.

There is no really a character, you are who you are. It is not really a roleplaying game, as everyone is put in the same economy with the same start, and most of the personas there are basically acting as their irl counterparts... It is a living world where you don't need to act differently other than be yourself, but you can roleplay (just as in the real world, but better). And it is a bit of a grind to get skills and money, but other activities, such as making pizza, business station, casino objects, crafting, clothing stores, various businesses and jobs. Oh, did I mention there are pets in the game as well? You can have a pet store... how cute is that?!

They had a server problem, but it's resolved now... It's still a beta though.

And I'm glad you are giving it a try, it really is fun

I'm liking it so far but there seems to be too much emphasis on skilling. Like, literally every hotspot is a skilling location. I was hoping for bars, restaurants and maybe some roleplay ones like town halls, suburbs, etc. Also, are the job locations editable? The diner could really use a break room.

Am I just too used to my own play style in the offline Sims games?

To be honest I'd prefer a roleplaying environment too. I've always been into storytelling games though

Servers were down again...

BTW... my house has changed a lot

And I've got neighbors. I wanted my house to be the bar one day, but I guess I'll have one across the street.

I found FreeSO last night. I never got a chance to play the original. It's funny, because I was really craving the original Sims lately. But, I don't know where my installers went, so this will help with that craving, I guess.

Dont worry, people are usually helpfull and patient with newbs... the are patient with trolls and spammers, and let alone newbs.

The only thing that's not allowed is a theft of moneymaking items like jams or gnomes...

But the game should get all of it's features ready soon, so it's going to become more fun haha.

Oh good! Because I was like, "Hrm. I think they are just saying 'it's okay' to be nice. I think they are secretly cursing me under their breath!" LOL! :D

They NEED you as a visitor to their lot, so that they can earn money from your visitations... that's why all of the people are "good" towards visitors

I finally saw someone not be quite as nice & fluffy as other lot owners. Someone peed on his floor, and then I saw the little negative signs over his head. Shortly after that, that person was booted! I was laughing, because at the previous lot I went to I saw a lady pee on their floor. She said, "Oh I'm so embarrassed!"

The people responded with: "Oh, it's okay!" and "It happens!" Meanwhile, I was thinking, "You're disgusting, lady...gross!"

Had she done that at the other guy's lot, she would've been kicked out. lol!

Also, I have a question. Is it possible to make friends with people? I saw a wiki that mentioned that you need to make friends in order to get job promotions, but I don't know how to do it.

Yeah... you have a daily and a lifetime bar, and to be friends you have to get to 60 of lifetime bar, both sided. To see how a sim feels about you and how you feel about that sim, just click on that sim's (person's) profile (or name if in bookmarks) and you'll see a gizmo with information about that person. Click on the little arrow to see more, and then open relationships tab.

And if you want to make friends fast, go to romantic lot category. The speed of gaining relationship points there is considerably faster.

If you want all of the information about the game go to tsomania.net

Fun fact: Original Sims Online was rebranded as EA-land because of the bug from 2005 that caused inflation and eventually reached lengths of recession that can be compared only to the great recession of 2008 irl.

Thank-you! Very helpful. I brought in a friend to play with me last night, but it wasn't going very well. We kept getting negatives. (My sim is a snob, apparently.)

BTW, I just had encounter with brothels, haha... And I got discount for being previous customer and for bargaining for lower price, even though I later gave them more than what they finally offered.

I hope nothing beffels the economy of this renewed Sims Online. I was studying about it's downfall and there mafia seems to be tied up to te inflation. I admit I am a bit glad that I did not pay for the original experience. It was probably worse than real life.

Yup, that's the main complaint of the game... Best strategy is to choose just one skill to max out, and only few to have there for offering services (serenade, shaman, benchpress)

Few other complaints:
- Overpopulation of money and skill lots... Nobody does anything else, no fun in the game, no lots of other types Everybody is afk in a game with social elements
- New businesses cannot get into the spotlight because of the overpopulation of JAM lots
- When a lot have everything a sim needs (money, skilling, greening, stores), then only few places will be full all of the time and other places are empty

What I described is all that game actually is right now, which is midless afk/grind and nothing else. But it's still beta... I wonder if it will change when it comes out. They announced CC support and have already provided tools for making new objects from scratch.

Even both discord groups are silent... The only time it's active is when server goes down and everybody starts complaining like small children lol

At least a portion of players and developers are aware that game deffinitelly has great flaws. They plan on incorportaing other stuff from Sims expansions, but in different form (EA copyright), once they make CC available on global server.

There are many things I love about this game, but the grinding aspect is turning me off. I don't want to spend all day at my computer helping my character grow as a person while I deteriorate IRL...lol.

Oddly enough, the offline Sims games never made me feel this way. There was no rat race.

If you can find someone to teach skills to your sim it is way faster than just straight up skilling. But yeah, most people just afk skill lol

Another thing though

Youtubers can promote their lots on youtube so everybody comes flocking to their lots. I thried promoting my property on both discord, FreeSO forum and here... and nothing, ofcourse. Like, I leave my lot open for few hours, and not a single sim steps in. Both when it was entertainment lot and now that it is money lot.

I just had the craziest party ever...

Well, recently (before the economy changes) I changed my place into a horor disco club (called it Monster Disco!). Opening party was a grand one, but todays party was special.

I needed thombstones so I organised the death party. Ali Iris was lucky enough to be honored death, thombstone and revival at my place (he won the dice game). But the party, jokes and fun were hilarious.

"MASS MURDER!"

Game is much more fun with economy changes and people realising that the game needs to be made fun, not exploited.

I did try to play FreeSO, I really did. At the time, it was just all Jam/pizza/skilling lots and it disappointed me. I don't really see that changing too much regardless of what the developers do. I remain optimistic.
