Default The Big Fat Liar Challenge
The Big Fat Liar Challenge

Been wanting to post this challenge for ever. Hope you enjoy!

Synopsis
Ever since childhood, your Sim has been a liar. A big fat one, to be exact. He/She has lied so much, that nobody knows what's true anymore. Now in adulthood, your Sim gets a phone call from his/her parents. They are coming for a visit to see your big house, good paying job and beautiful/handsome significant other, basically to see if you're telling the truth. Truth is, none of it exists. You live in a crappy house/apartment, you've been living off cereal since you lost your low paying job at a fast food restuarant and your SO dumped you yesterday. Now your sim has four weeks to pull together a life they never had.

Phase 1: Let's Get Started
Create an YA or A any gender and one of the traits has to be Lazy. (This trait can be changed as you start to get better in life or phase 2) Aspirations don't matter. Lifespan depends on what mode you play.

Get a pre-made house or make your own. Make it the ugliest cheapest one bedroom house/apartment possible and make the lot traits reflect on it. You can only use the cheapest furniture. Once you finish, reduce your household funds to one hundred simoleans with the money cheat. (You're a broke jobless deadbeat who lives off of cereal, I'm being realistic)

Get with someone and have them break up. (Your SO that dumped you)

You can get any job as long as you make it to level 5 before the four weeks are up. (Because you can totally afford that flat screen you bragged about)

You have to get with someone (boyfriend, girlfriend, fiance(e), husband, wife) I don't care as long as you go on at least six dates with them. (Relationships take time. Not one sim day) You can even get back with that ex of yours, if they're willing.
NO "JUST FRIENDS" (You told your parents that you had a great relationship with your SO)

As you start to make money, you can start upgrading the house and the furnishings. Make another bedroom for your parents to stay in while they visit. (Get luxury bedding and a seperate bathroom for them too. ALL EXPENSIVE)

If you can't afford your bills for a bit or want to save up, you're welcome to stay in a cheap motel (one hundred simoleans a night, subtract from your household funds) If you're able to do all this in four weeks, then we move on to Phase two.

Phase two: Parents incoming!

Move your parents in your lot with cheats. (You're lying about your life, so your parents aren't bringing a dime)
Once they're in, whatever whims your parents have that include money, you must complete it. (To make it harder, have your parents be Snobs and Materalistic)
You must take a week off your job to entertain your parents. (If you have GTW, take sick days if your vacation days run out. If not, once your vacation days run out just skip and pray you don't get fired)

(If you have Dine Out) Every night, take your parents out to eat at a expensive restuarant. Choose the most expensive foods and drinks and treat them to a three course meal. (I mean the appetizer, main course AND dessert. ALL WITH DRINKS)
Show off your new SO to them. (If you have GT, talk up on how your SO got another promotion)

Spoil your parents. If you have Spa Day, have them get the most expensive massages. You at a bar/nightclub/lounge/karoke club? Get expensive drinks. You see your mom eyeing that thousand simolean dress? You better buy it. The key is, the more expensive, the better.

When the week is up, you win! You can move out your parents or invite them to move in (just explain that you can't afford seven hundred simolean dinners every night.) You can break up with your SO or marry them. You can admit your lie or just let your parents live in their ignorant bliss that their child was always living the high life.

You can play this challenge easy, medium or hard.

Easy: In the beginning the household funds are at 1,000, the time you have until your parents visit is six weeks, you can date and move in your SO after three dates, the motel is free, you can cheat your job level if you run out of time. Your parents stay for three days instead of the week. Lifespan set on long.

Medium: Everything in phase 1 and your lifespan is set on normal

Hard: Funds at zero (Like the legacy challenge) Your time is two weeks, dating and moving in a SO take nine dates and to make it harder, you HAVE to go back to your ex, (if you're into storytelling, we'll say that your parents loved your ex) the motel is five hundred per night, you have to reach level 7 of your career and your parents stay for two weeks. Lifespan set at normal.

Short extra: If you want a challenge, then set the lifespan on short and try to achieve level 5 of your career before you age into an adult

If you fail the challenge, your relationship with your parents suffer and in their eyes, you'll always be the same big fat liar you've always been.

A few things to consider:
If you don't want to have a job and want to paint, write, garden etc. for money, reach level 5 of the skill and download Neia's Self Employed mod so it can be 'registered'

Any mod that increases the wages is a no.
If you only have the base game, throw parties in your parents' honor every night, cook expensive dinners (Or use the Food Delivery mod and order gourmet for every meal)

When I say motel, I mean a crappy community lot with okay furniture.
