Maxis and custom clothes look blurry even though I got all inside game graphics settings set up high:

I tried looking for solutions -to make them look better- on sims 2 forums but didn't find anything

Maybe your game does not use your good graphic card?

Can you upload your config-log.txt? Open the Sims 2 folder in Documents, then find the Logs folder. The file will be in there.

What EP and SP's do you have? Depending on how many packs your running, your memory might not be enough. Also, this is the list of compatible graphic cards for sims 2. List probably could use an update, but your card has maybe's in a few columns for compatibility on some EP's. Hopefully, we can find a work around for you though. Config file will help to see.

Also try this, might work for you.

AMD Radeon HD 5450 is not a gaming card. I recently bought an AMD Radeon RX 560 which I felt was the lowest I would want for sims 2. The clue is the 54, whereas you don't want to go below 56. I think that is right, somebody correct me if I am wrong?

Just adding, for sims you want sim details on high. However see those shadows on high? I would set them to medium or off to give your poor graphic card some extra 'juice'.

The 5450 gets a "maybe" on MTS's recommended card list.

First of, I have the same problem and also a shitty graphics card so I guess that's the main conflict.
In my case this problem occurred when I had "too much" custom content. Meaning that I downloaded A LOT and it has been blurry eversince. This might be wrong but I would say having less custom clothes or generally less CC is the only thing you can do

You don't have the 4GBT patch on.

Yes, you should use the fix here. http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=610641

I wanted to see if you had the 32 mb texture problem, or if the CPU wasn't strong enough for high resolution, but that's all fine according to your log. Are you using default replacement skins? If you are, try loading the game without them. Given that your card is known to have issues with this game, I'd turn down some of the settings and see if that helps. Lower the smooth edges some, set shadows to medium and use a smaller screen resolution that 1600x900.

That means the patch has not taken. Make sure you do not have any compatibilty modes on the exe you are trying to patch. If it took, it will say 4096.
