In each bio, I write the Sim's name, their primary and secondary aspiration, their lifetime want, their zodiac sign, "Shy" or "Outgoing" (shy = 1 - 4 outgoing points, outgoing = 5 - 10 outgoing points), their interests (8+ points only), and their main hobbies (5+ enthusiasm in a hobby before I include it in the bio). I don't keep these details until they age to Teen to give my Child Sims as much time as possible to show their personality to me before I start keeping track of it.

The shy/outgoing part is to help me remember their preferences when socializing. If they have less than 5 outgoing points, then they're more likely to call a Sim on the phone instead of invite them over. If they have 10 outgoing points, then everyone comes over all the time. I find that this system helps me consciously instill variety in my game--without it, my Sims would never get alone time, lmao. Sims with more outgoing points are more likely to have multiple people over in a single day, throw more parties, etc. Super introverted Sims might not interact with anyone for days at a time.

Keeping track of their interests and hobbies helps me decide what to have them do when they don't have any wants that I'm trying to fulfill.

I never use family biographies except to mark which household I left off on in my rotation when I start up the game again.

I usually kill them off, so my Sims don't need a biography.

If you remember me, I'm awesome!

A love bios. I wish it was just easier to read bios. Like ask a sim about himself and we would have a messages with bio, or in the social panel, see our friends bio

I don't always write bios, but sometimes write a sim's inner thoughts in them. Family description just lists the household, which spot in the rotation they're on and how many days off college sims 2 are (I do weekly rotations and they need to be re-added into the main hood if they get their own households).

I'll read the ones of premade sims but haven't bothered with my own. I would like to start updating the household descriptions though at the start of a round. Maybe not every round, I don't know. I might try at the start of round 3. Who knows if i'll bother though. I do post my gameplay on my Simblr so I can always look back on that thanks to the tags to find what sims i want so i can remember what's going on. I also have spreadsheets and notes for each household that i'll list anything I want to remember and I constantly update those as I play.

Ingame? Never bothered keeping track of that. I would occasionally write small biographies in my early simming days, but don't do that any longer. I guess I just found all of that too much, pus I rarely kill off sims ingame so if I ever wonder about their stats I'll just check.

These days the only sims I really care to do anything like this for (and not so much ingame stats) are story/picture sims, and more an actual personality/biography out of the game than an ingame stat overview. Most of the time I'm really lazy with my story sims and give them roughly the same stats (neutral ones, mostly), so there's not much to keep track of

(Plus, I've never particularly liked keeping up with spreadsheets - if I ever start one, I can maybe keep up with it for a month or so, and then suddenly there are 14 different saved versions for no particular reason, plus two other lines of 9 and 12 saves with different names, and it all just gets too confusing - it always happens when I'm writing or noting down stuff... My story folder would be a nightmare for anyone who would want a sneak peek ).

I keep the in-game biography short and sweet like the EAxis made characters' bios. Sims of any significance get bios in a text file written in the format of a Wikipedia article, and the most important ones I upload to The Sims Wiki on Fandom as a Fanon article. Examples:

Amanda Wiles: https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Fanon:Amanda_Wiles
Amber Morgan: https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Fanon:Amber_Morgan
Kane Morgan: https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Fanon:Kane_Morgan

I write obituaries as biographies when the sim dies. It summarizes their life, relationships, and a general sense of their "personality" like a real obituary. Some are long and detailed. Others are shorter for the more boring or mundane sims.

I'll do some of that for my Pleasantview sims like family ones to tell about each family's history and where they fit in as a part of the town.Andy and Carol Pleasant are the first of the Pleasant family in my Pleasantview and they're the colonial ancestors of the EA version and were alive 423 years ago.

I've taken to using the Sim bios as a capsule description of the character, especially if they're a Townie. Matthew Hill is "Out and Flaming" (i.e. very very gay). Twyla Corbett has the motto "Marriage first, WooHoo afterward!" (I figured that one out when she refused more than Cuddling on two different occasions), Safiya Georgescu (Playable) is "Hot to Trot", etc.

I'm thinking of using the bio area as being the place to list the pixel's traits. That way I won't have to search for them in the DB.
