I has the problem when I open the program. The error message shows as below . Could someone help me to solve ? I really want to use this program . Thank you

Can you verify that your userdata for The Sims 2 is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2? And that there are files in the thumbnails folder?

Yes . "thumbnails" is in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2

By the way , I use XP , I also down "Visual Basic 6 Runtime (Microsoft) " in the Paladin's
And I do a lot stupid things
- Romove download folder , try the program . Is shows the same error message.
- Remove Accessory.cache / Groups.cache in the C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2
- Looking for "gsOpenPackageFile " . I don't know what's procedure of it ? . The error message , but there are no "gsOpenPackage" in my computer

It didn't work .
I also post my question in Paladin's , but no answer yet .

The guy who made SimCategoriser is being kept from Sims work by real life events at this time, and your chances of getting support from him are therefore quite slim.

So is this correct that you have the categorizer installed on your E volume, and The Sims 2 installed on D? Also, try removing the thumbnails package and running the game to generate a clean one- it is possible that this file is damaged and so unreadable.

I remove the thumbnails package and run the game . It still didn't work .
and even I change the location of Sims 2 Categorizer , it shows the same problem .

Okay, that error message is significantly different from your first error:



The install patch has changed from C to E. Did you install to a different location?

Yes ,I change it , but it didn't work .
I try your method again .
I remove the thumbnails package , then I can open the program , it shows no thing .
After I run the game , it shows the same error message .

In case your still interested AND have Bodyshop.

Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Thumbnails\
Copy ObjectThumbnails.package
Go to your Bodyshop Folder.
Create a Thumbnails folder and paste ObjectThumbnails.package.

Run the program and see if it works, it did for me.
